Curriculum/Administrative Support

The Parents' Association supports a great many of curriculum initiatives that benefit the students as well as help support the administration of Saint Stephen of Hungary School.

The Parents' Association, along with the faculty and administration, team up with Scholastic to offer a variety of book titles for the whole family. Proceeds from the sale are used to buy books and other materials for the classrooms and school library.

The Annual Auction is hosted by the Saint Stephen of Hungry School Foundation, and the Parents’ Association supports this event by soliciting donations and volunteers. Parents and friends of our community are invited to our annual auction, which has been a fun and successful fundraiser for our school. Funds raised help support and enrich the school’s curriculum and technology.

Parents bid on themed gift baskets, vacations, sporting and event tickets as well as once in a lifetime opportunities like “Principal for the Day” and custom art work created by Saint Stephen students.

The event is a success because of the generosity of our families, friends and the many establishments that donate items.

The Annual Golf Outing is hosted by the Saint Stephen of Hungry School Foundation, and the Parents’ Association supports this event by soliciting donations and volunteers. Parents and friends of our community are invited to our annual golf outing and cocktail hour which has been a fun and successful fundraiser for our school.

The event is a success because of the generosity of our families and friends.

Show your school spirit on Field Day! Students are divided into teams and compete in games and events like egg on a spoon relay, 100 yard dash and football toss. Parents volunteer to organize events and supervise students.
The families of the current First Grade class provide a Graduation Celebration, which is held in the auditorium, directly after the Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony. Brunch appropriate food and beverages are served, while the graduating class and their families have the opportunity to mingle, congratulate one another, and say their goodbyes before summer vacation begins.

The parents of the current Eighth Grade class in coordination with the School Administration, help plan an end of year event for the eighth grade class each year to celebrate the students’ final days at Saint Stephen of Hungary School.

Knock. Knock. Knock. A room full of children quiets down and guesses who will come through the door. The excited children squeal with delight as they see their parent, grandparent, caregiver, or special friend appear with a book under their arm. Anticipation builds all week as the children wonder who will be the next Mystery Reader.

Successfully launched by the Parents’ Association, the Mystery Reader Program is offered at Saint Stephen for Pre-K 3 through 3rd grade. The program helps develop a love of reading and the chance to share favorite books with classmates. Many Mystery Readers bring favorite books from home, but books can also be borrowed from the Library. Please consider donating a copy of the book to the Library so that all students may learn to love these special books.

Please contact your Class Parent to sign up for Mystery Reader.

The Parents' Association teams up with a third-party vendor to offer an optional alternative for parents who are looking for a hassle-free way to purchase their mandatory back-to-school supplies. Each kit contains exactly what your child’s teacher needs for next year. Volunteers work with school administration on gathering a list of supplies for each teacher.
