The From Phonics to Reading Program
SSHS utilizes research-based phonics instruction to ensure that our early readers have the foundation for robust literacy skills. The students' proficiency builds each year so they can flourish as narrative writers with strong reading comprehension. Our Orton-Gillingham trained Reading Specialist, Ms. Lizzy Battle, offers effective support to SSHS students.
