3. Design your own bird nest using any materials you have at home - popsicle sticks, ripped up pieces of paper, old cloth, tape, toys, etc. Make sure to ask your parents if it is okay to use those items before you begin.

4. Record a Flipgrid video showing us your nest and then tell us where you would put your nest in your home to keep it safe. You do NOT have to put the nest there, you ONLY need to tell us where you would put it to keep the baby birds safe.

Choose 1 biome to complete this assignment - desert, grassland, tropical rainforest, temperate rainforest, temperate deciduous forest, taiga, tundra, or water.

Read about the biome and how the plants survive in that biome.

Write 1 paragraph (4 - 6 sentences) about how plants survive in that biome.

Remember: The first sentence should tell the reader what the paragraph is about. If you chose the biome grassland, then your first sentence could sound like, “Plants in the grassland have many adaptations that help them survive.” The rest of your paragraph will include details that you have learned about the adaptations plants have that help them survive.

2. Remember the last step of the scientific method is to share your results, so I would like you to record a Flipgrid video sharing what ended up happening in your lab! We will learn from each other's results!

Extra Information:
Choice 1 - If you do not have 25 or more pennies, you may use less pennies, different coins, or a different item. You will discover what happens and you will be able to compare it to the results of the other scientists in your class by watching their Flipgrid videos.

Choice 2 - If you do not have all the items needed for this lab, then you may alter the items and use what you do have. Make sure to mention what you replaced the original items with in your video, so you may compare your results on Flipgrid.
