We will be doing a Mystery Science on the moon! You do not need to print out anything, but see the materials and setup below. At the end of the mystery, you will complete the mystery assessment as an exit ticket.
Materials & Setup--try your best to have these materials and setup so you can see the phases of the moon!
-If you can be in a room that can get dark, that would be best!
-Sun: flashlight
-Moon: In yesterday's video, my moon was a clay ball on a popsicle stick. Smooth styrofoam balls work too. If you have clay or play doh, you can roll it into a ball and put it on a pen or pencil! A smooth styrofoam ball also works well. If you do not have any of these materials, you can also just use a small ball to hold in your hand.

Yesterday, you saw why & how plastic was created, and that plastic can certainly have good uses, but that it can also harm the environment.
Today, we are going to look at how plastic gets into oceans, and the types of harm it can cause there. You will watch a video that talks about nurdles, which are just tiny pieces of plastic. It's a funny word, and the video makes them seem very cute, BUT they can cause A LOT of harm in our oceans.
1. Watch the video: Nurdles' Quest for Ocean Domination
2. Answer the questions in the form.
*TIPS*
It can be helpful to read the questions before the video.
*BONUS/OPTIONAL*
Sketch up your idea for a technology or process that could clean up the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Label its parts to help show how it would work.
Let me know if you need any help, or have any questions!
