On May 22nd grades 3-8 participated in a presentation by Sylvia Wong, Director of Public Engagement for Concern Worldwide U.S. Concern Worldwide is a global humanitarian organization working towards a world without extreme poverty. Students learned about the Sustainable Development Goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all. After the presentation, Saint Stephen 5th graders were inspired brainstormed a way to help raise awareness and funds to fight poverty.

In partnership with the PA, 5th graders decided to have a bake sale on Tuesday, June 13th to raise and donate funds to support Concern Worldwide.

With their hard work and dedication, the students' bake sale raised over $700. The 5th grade presented Joanna Geraghty (P '22), Cahir of the Board of Directors at Concern Worldwide US with a $705 check. The money raised will help the organization to provide a village school in Bangladesh with a years worth of clean water, 50 blankets and the opportunity for two girls in Lebanon to go to school for a year. We are so proud that our students were inspired by Concern Worldwide and took this opportunity to help raise funds for such an important cause.
