On a weekly basis students can log on to a 5-6 minute presentation designed to help them determine if La Salle Academy is a good fit for them (Their parents are welcome to tune in as well!). Members of our Administration and academic departments will take turns hosting live Zoom conferences. We call our series LSA4U.

The first session occurs on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7:00 pm with La Salle Academy President, Brother Thomas Casey, FSC, and Principal, Ms. Kerry Conroy. Your students and their families will have the opportunity to ask questions. To receive a link to the presentation this Wednesday, September 23rd, your students should contact me at achin@lasalleacademy.org.

Private tours of our school building are available by appointment only. Come see what La Salle Academy has to offer as a small, all male, ethnically diverse, college preparatory Catholic high school. Please let me know which date and time is best for you to visit La Salle.

I hope this finds you and your school community safe and well as we begin this new year. While so much has changed in 2020, it is comforting to know that some things remain the same: whether in the physical or virtual classroom, Dominican Academy continues to offer young women a well-rounded and rigorous education in the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. We are proud of our distinction as the only all-honors high school for young women in New York State and as Niche school ranking’s #3 Catholic girls high school in New York State for 2020-2021!
Know that the D.A. Admissions Committee fully supports the pedagogical and administrative decisions you have made or will make to serve your students during this time of crisis. We fully understand that your school may have transitioned to pass/fail, standards-based rubrics, or other alternative means of assessment in lieu of traditional numerical grades. We support the tough decisions that schools have had to make, and will be flexible and fair in our review of all materials. We want to lessen the burdens on you and your families, not increase them.
Our Admissions Team will work tirelessly to ensure that your families can safely learn about D.A. Whether it’s through a live Q&A, virtual tour, or connecting with current students, your students will experience the unique warmth of the D.A. community and get the information they need! Let me know if you'd like to schedule a Zoom session with me for your students by replying to this email.
Two virtual Open Houses will take place this Fall: Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 10:00-11:30 AM and Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 5:00-6:30 PM. An R.S.V.P. is required to attend. Please visit www.DominicanAcademy.org/Admissions/Visit-Us for more information or to register.
I look forward to connecting with your students and assisting them as they navigate the high school admissions process.

Please see below some highlights from a letter to Ms. Burke about Cathedral High School:
We were delighted that in August we were able to host a small and intimate graduation ceremony at St. Patrick's Cathedral for our graduating Class of 2020. We are so proud of these young ladies who despite having a senior year that none would have expected, continued to persevere through the challenges and new way of learning. They earned over $20 million in college scholarships and grants and are currently at wonderful schools such as Columbia University, NYU, University of Notre Dame and many more.
Classes at Cathedral High School began on Thursday, September 10th as we welcomed 140 freshmen into the Class of 2024 (both in person as some are seen above and remotely). We are dedicated to continue to provide our students with the same value of education that they have always received at Cathedral High School, whether they are present in the classroom or attending classes remotely. Our STEM Academy continues to flourish and grow and we are excited of all the new projects that are underway for this school year.
This year we will be hosting two virtual Open Houses on Sunday, October 18th and Wednesday, October 28th. In addition to these virtual open houses we will also be offering private evening tours at the end of October. Please encourage your families to visit our website at www.cathedralhs.org for more information on how they can register for these events.
