Pennies for Patients- this week marks the start of our annual Pennies For Patients drive for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This charity is especially close to our hearts as it began a few years ago with one of our own students who began this journey a few years ago. This drive will continue all month so students have plenty of time to donate and collect change. We will be discussing how people with cancer are similar to super heroes as they show bravery and strength in their fight against this disease.
Thursday 2/5 Presentation *important drop-off procedure change*-
Students in grades 1-8 will immediately go up to the classrooms to drop off their belongings and then go to the Church for a presentation from a P4P speaker. Parents do not need to accompany their students as we will be in the classrooms monitoring drop-off and there will be teachers on supervision in the church. There is still mass on Wednesday.
Half-Day Friday 3/6- Students can choose to follow the typical dress-down day protocol or they are allowed to dress up as a superhero of his or her choice if they have donated a minimum of $5 to the P4P cause.
Tuesday, 3/10 Field Trip- We have a field trip to the NY Hall of Science. It is also spring picture day. Students are to dress up for the picture and change into their gym uniform for the trip.  Each student must also bring a disposable lunch.
