Dear Fourth Grade Parents/Guardians and Students:

It’s hard to believe that we are already half way through the month of August and that we are ready to start a brand new school year! I hope that you have all enjoyed these beautiful days of summer and have had the chance to spend time with your family and friends.  I also hope that you have spent time reading your summer books ~ Shiloh, Frindle and The Great Gilly Hopkins.  Remember, that there will be a test on these books when we return in September.

The fourth grade has some exciting changes this year.  For one, the fourth grade will have a self-contained learning environment. This change allows students to foster a better sense of community and respect for one another by allowing them to work together.  It will also help students to develop the self-confidence they will need to excel academically.

In addition, to help foster this sense of academic excellence, the fourth grade classroom is now equipped with a Smart Board.  Having our very own Smart Board will allow students to have a more challenging and interactive learning experience.

Enjoy these remaining days of summer and come back well rested and ready for the many activities and experiences that await you as a new school year begins.

I am looking forward to seeing all of you in September!

Best Wishes,

Ms. Weidner
