A: In order to apply to St. Stephen, parent(s)/guardian(s) must first submit an application form to our office. All applicants will be interviewed at some point in the process. An application folder (including teacher recommendations, admissions testing, and other materials) must be completed by December 15th to be considered in our first round of Admissions decisions.

A: The application form and application fee ($225) are due by December 15. However, interviewing will begin in October. You must have all materials submitted in order to schedule an interview.

A: In accordance with archdiocesan regulations, students will be admitted to Kindergarten only if they will be five years old by the end of December and to the First Grade only if they will be six years old by the end of December. Additionally, students applying for Pre-Kindergarten must be three years old by the end of December for the Pre-Kindergarten 3 program and four years old by the end of December for the Pre-Kindergarten 4 program.

A: Other required pieces of the application for Grades 1 and above include:

• most recent school reports
• school transcript from previous academic year
• standardized testing completed at current school (if available)
Recommendation forms are included in the Application Materials Packet. These recommendation forms should be delivered to the applicant’s school by the parent and returned directly to the St. Stephen's Admissions Office by the applicant’s school. We recommend that the teachers have ample time to get to know the applicant well, and suggest that these forms are given to teachers after November 1.

A: Yes. The type of testing required depends on the grade level. Teacher-made tests include Reading and Math curriculum based items. Grades 6-7-8 testing includes a writing sample.
