| St. Stephen of Hungary School provides an excellent academic education to children from Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Students receive a well-rounded education that includes the humanities and fine arts. The curriculum ranges from language arts, math, and science to music, technology, physical education, and art.
We are an intentionally small school of approximately 200 students from the parish, the neighborhood, the five boroughs, and around the globe. Research continues to support smaller class size as a formula for success and the achievements of our students confirm this research. Our dedicated teachers take pride in offering students individualized attention and encouragement in building a solid educational and spiritual foundation. The student/teacher ratio is 18:1 and the average number of year of experience for administrators and faculty is 15 years.
We live by our Mission that states we welcome children of all racial, national, and religious origins. St. Stephen of Hungary School is one of the most successfully integrated schools on the Upper East Side. We are committed to diversity and believe it enriches the overall experience for our students.
St. Stephen of Hungary School has earned accreditation from Middle States Association of Colleges Commission on Elementary Schools and the Archdiocese of New York. The school also follows the guidelines of the New York Board of Regents.
Above all else, St. Stephen of Hungary School values its students' uniqueness and individuality. While we expect them to maintain high academic standards, we also challenge them to take an active role in the school as a community. Each student contributes their own special talents, enriching themselves and others. They continually come up with great ideas, work together, and follow through to make their ideas reality. Their commitment and enthusiasm -- as well as hands-on experience -- set them firmly on the path to become exceptional leaders. |
